Barton Upon Humber Town Council are inviting you to apply for a D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration Grant to hold a public event within Barton Upon Humber. Community events and commemorative activity should be inclusive to the general public. Completed application forms must be received with all supporting information by 12 noon on 30th April.
The Town Council flag will be lowered to half mast on the afternoon of Monday 22nd January 2024 until the morning of Monday 29th January 2024 as a mark of respect for Mrs Gillian Nicholson who served as Mayoress with Councillor Nigel Pinchbeck 2017-2019 and Mrs Janet Oxley who served as a Town Councillor for many years and was Mayor 1995-1996, 2004-2005 and 2013-2014. Both have served their community and our sincere condolences have been conveyed to their families.
Commemorate the monumental 80th anniversary of D-Day with community grant funding. Community groups and voluntary organisations across North Lincolnshire can get up to £250 to help them commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy in June 2024. It’s the final Barton Town Market of 2023 on Saturday 2nd December. Come along to the Market Place and Butchery between 08:00 and 14:00 for your fresh local produce, sweet treats and local crafts.
We will return in 2024 with our first market being held on Saturday 3rd February.

The Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service is to take place on Sunday 12 November 2023.
The Remembrance Day Parade will take the following route:
Proceeding from The Assembly Rooms located on Queen Street at 10.30 a.m. onto the High Street (between Queen Street and Burgate), Burgate, Whitecross Street (between Beck Hill and Barrow Road junction) and Barrow Road to the Cenotaph for 11.00 a.m. Then, the reverse route back concluding at 11.30 a.m.
