The Town Council is a Statutory Consultee for all applications in Barton. North Lincolnshire Council make the final Planning Decisions and the Town Council can only comments, support or object to proposals. The meetings are held every three weeks in the Assembly Rooms at 7.00pm on Monday evenings. The meetings are open to the public and members of the public are welcome to address the Committee prior to the meeting by contacting the Clerk at the Town Council Offices beforehand. Written comments are also considered by the Committee.

Bulb planting
The next bulb planting will be on Saturday October 20 focusing on brightening up the Humber Bridge viewing area. The Town Council’s annual bulb budget has been allocated to the Chad Varah memorial Garden in Baysgarth Park but the Barton Lions have generously matched this with bulbs for the Viewing Area. All helpers welcome. Meet at 9.30 at the Viewing Area with a bucket for the bulbs and a spade and gloves.
Picnic in the Park 2018
Picnic in the Park 2018 will be held on 5th August from 12.00pm to 4.00pm in Baysgarth Park and will include Circus workshop with Earthbound Misfits, ST-ART Craft Workshop, Children’s Race’s organised by Barton Athletics Club, Barton Community Band, Barton Park Bowls Club, Food and Ice Cream, Dance and Fitness Demonstration, Barton Children’s Centre & Family Info Service and Gentle Hands baby massage.
