NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL NOTICE OF REVIEW OF POLLING DISTRICTS AND POLLING PLACES

NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

NOTICE OF REVIEW OF POLLING DISTRICTS AND POLLING PLACES

The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 requires North Lincolnshire Council to carry out a review of its polling districts and polling places every five years. The previous statutory review was undertaken in 2014.

The purpose of the review is to seek to ensure that

  • · All electors in the North Lincolnshire area which includes the parliamentary constituencies of Scunthorpe, Brigg and Goole and Cleethorpes have such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable in the circumstances.
  • · So far as is reasonable and practicable every polling place for which it is responsible is accessible to all electors, particularly those with a disability.

Information about the current polling districts and polling places, comments from the Returning Officer and any proposed changes will be available to view on the council’s website at www.northlincs.gov.uk and from the council‘s electoral services (upon request) at the address below.

Electors within the area as part of this review are invited to make representations by 6 October 2019 relating to the boundaries of polling districts, the location and suitability of polling places and polling stations within them.

The council would welcome the views of all residents, particularly residents with a disability and any person or organisation with expertise in access of persons with any type of disability.

Persons or bodies making representations should, if possible/applicable, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.

Representations in connection with the review should be submitted to Electoral Services by email to elections@northlincs.gov.uk or by post to Electoral Services, Church Square House, 3040 High Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6NL.

Following the consultation period, officers will prepare final recommendations for future arrangements taking into consideration representations received. This will be submitted for approval to the meeting of North Lincolnshire Council on 10 December 2019. Details of all representations made will be published.
