Town Council thanks local resident for removing unwanted graffiti

A huge thank you to our wonderful local resident, Alan Gouldthorpe for removing the graffiti on the gable end in the Market Place this morning. Alan decided to use his own graffiti removal kit to erase the unwanted graffiti today and we really can’t thank you enough for striving to keep our streets clean and graffiti free.

Baysgarth House Museum opening times during the platinum jubilee bank holiday weekend

Formerly the home of the Wright-Taylor family, Baysgarth House Museum will be opening it’s doors to the public during The platinum jubilee bank holiday weekend. Inside you will see a display of HM The Queen along with the 18th century clockmaker, John Harrison Exhibition. The Exhibitions are free to visit.

Opening Times:

  • Thursday 2nd June: 10-15:00
  • Friday 3rd June: 11-15:00
  • Saturday: 11-15:00
  • Sunday: 11-14:00

Staffed mainly by a team of dedicated volunteers, Baysgarth House Museum celebrates the lives of local people through permanent and temporary exhibitions and projects. The Museum hosts its own collections and part of the North Lincolnshire Museum Service’s archives, and is happy to assist with research enquiries.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Tart Recipe

With only 2 days to go until HM The Queens Platinum Jubilee, why not, for a bit of fun, and using the best of British Produce, bake HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Tart.

24th Annual Beer Festival

The town’s annual  Beer Festival is back! Hosted by the Barton Lions Club in its traditional setting of Baysgarth Park, the festival runs from Friday 3rd June from 4pm to 11pm, and Saturday 4th June from 12 noon to 11pm. This charity fundraising event has been running since 1997 and this year 45 real ales will be available as well as draught lagers, ciders and wine. There will also be a selection of soft drinks and as well as hot food.

Live music includes Scrapyard Dogs, Barton Community Band, Steve Smith and Chapter 2.

Entrance costs £6 per adult. All proceeds raised are for charity.

Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting

Celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee event with Barton Upon Humber Town Council on Thursday 2nd June 2022, 21:30 – 22:00. (Beacon Lighting approx 21:45).
Enjoy live ceremonial music as the Beacon is lit to commemorate this momentous mile-stone in our history, Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth.

Walking the Way to Health in North Lincolnshire

The walks included in this programme are accredited to the National Ramblers Wellbeing Walks scheme.

* Everybody is welcome to join any of the walks, which are always relaxed and friendly.
* All walks are FREE and are no longer than 3 miles (unless otherwise stated) please check the length of the walk
beforehand. All walks are 90 minutes or less
* Walks are led and supported by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders, one with first aid equipment.
* In severe weather conditions walks may be cancelled, please call 0771 7586380 before 9.30am on the day of the
walk if you are in any doubt that a walk will not be taking place.
* Please wear comfortable shoes with grip and be aware that some walks may be muddy in places. It is also advisable
to bring a drink with you, particularly in warmer weather.
* Please consider residents and other road users when parking and allow adequate room for farming vehicles. Please
do not park on verges, block driveways and consider the Highway Code when parking.
* Assistance dogs are welcome on walks.
* Choose a walk suitable for you (please note the start time, if you are new, please attend 10-15 minutes earlier to fill
in a walker registration form)
