Barton Upon Humber Town Council’s Town Award for 2024 will continue with a Young Person’s award (under 18) as well as the usual Town Award. Details are shown below and will also be available on the Town Council’s Facebook and website.
Town Award 2024 (Town-Award-2024.pdf | 202Kb)
The Award is presented annually to a resident within the community for work or action of merit. This will be a small thank you to the people who have helped our community or members of it, without expectation of reward or thanks. The winner will receive a silver cup to be held for one year, together with a certificate and keepsake, the award will be presented by the Mayor of Barton Upon Humber.
Last year’s winner was Mr Peter Kipling who was nominated “for sustained effort and tireless work to enable and establish ‘Men in Sheds’ in Barton. Peter took up this worthwhile project when President of Barton Rotary Club 2018/2019. Peter attended many meetings with North Lincolnshire Council Reps and other key parties. His unwavering commitment has indeed led to the fruition and launch of Men in Sheds. This will not only benefit the people of the Barton area presently but also in the future.”
Nominations for both categories from anyone who knows of a person they think deserves recognition. The nominated person must live in the town or work voluntary with a Barton Upon Humber organisation/group to be eligible and can not be a Town Councillor or Officer.
